Registration Information

Welcome Andover Hockey Parents and Players

I would like to welcome you to the 2023-2024 season!

As a youth sports association, participating families (Association members) share the cost of fielding teams and running the program.  We also share the benefit of fundraising efforts through charitable gambling and our charitable gambling sites. We operate charitable gaming at Pappy’s Tavern, Route 65 Pub and Willy McCoy’s in Andover.  Our ability to operate fundraising efforts at these locations is only possible with the voluntary support of these local business owners. Please support the local businesses who support our activities!  Without these fine establishments, we would be looking at an almost 100% increase in our Association fees to keep the Association running!  Please let them know that you are with Andover hockey and give them a thank you.

Please note the following items for the 2023-2024 season:

  • Our Association has remained very fiscally responsible allowing us to keep fees the same we operated under for the 2022 - 2023 season.  See the full fee schedule under program information on AHYHA.com.

  • To ease the burden of up-front costs to families we will collect a pre-defined discretionary expense amount as a part of registration to feed each team's initial slush fund.  This allows famlies the choice to pay their initial slush fund amount up front or spread accross their registration fees.  As agreed to by the team, additional slush fund fees may be collected by the team manager later in the season only up to association mandated limits.

  • We depend on volunteers.  Many thanks for increasing engagement to support our Assocation. As a result of increasing volunteer participation we will be moving (back) to a volunteer penalty collected at the end of season for volunteer hour non-compliance instead of collecting a volunteer deposit up front.

  • We will continue to use both ice sheets at the Andover Community Center as well as other local arenas, allowing for plenty of ice time for our players.

  • As in previous years, TRYOUTS for all traveling teams will remain closed.

  • No photos and videos in the locker room. Please remind your players that positive locker room behavior is expected. Travel teams should support their SafeSport team locker room monitor in managing locker room integrity.

Reminder: PLAYER ELIGIBILITY RULES require that AHYHA continue adhering to the District 10 mandated High School boundary rules as noted in Minnesota Hockey.  Players registering must have primary residence within the Andover High School boundaries.

Go Huskies!

Registration

All participants MUST register with USA Hockey prior to registering with the association.  This includes players, coaches and voluteers.  In addition to the benefits USA Hockey brings to the sport in general, USA Hockey requires this registration for players and coaches as USA Hockey carries AHYHA's insurance.  If there are any injuries on the ice, USA Hockey holds that liability so your player or coach is covered.

Each participant will pay a USA Hockey registration fee if age 7 or older. The USA Hockey fee is waived for age 6 and younger. Registration must be completed for all players regardless of age.  Registering as a volunteer is free.
